Departmental Aims

For the purposes of this statement, the 'estate' comprises all freehold, leasehold and joint venture land and buildings whether academic, clinical, agricultural or residential, occupied as part of the College business.

Estates therefore aims amongst other things, and in no priority order, to:
  • Provide a quality professional service at all times
  • Work with all departments to ensure that the estate develops to enable the delivery of a state-of-the-art learning environment
  • Work to ensure that wherever possible the residential facilities meet the needs and aspirations of the students
  • Influence, direct and deliver the overall estate strategy
  • Deliver projects on time and to budget
  • Ensure that the estate is safe, functional, high quality, efficient and adaptable to changing needs
  • Lead in the development of innovative and appropriate design development and environmental solutions within a business context
  • Explore and implement, wherever possible, strategies that are sensitive to the emerging policies on environmental and sustainable development
  • Explore and promote corporate estate opportunities
  • Ensure that the College meets, as a minimum, its statutory obligations whilst delivering an effective business case
